Priests from ancient tribes tell the story of Akma's fury and kindness when, after millennia in his eternal sleep, he announced his awakening with the blossoming of a beautiful cherry tree on its summit, thus the Prophecy of the Ashen Tree was born. Some say that the birth of the cherry tree represents the kindness of Akma, who warned the gods of its imminent eruption. Others believe that Akma defied the gods, causing destruction and death in his path, in a rage that lasted hundreds of years.
